This guide walks through the process of managing inventory within WeighPay one, focusing on how to transfer, regrade, and track products through the system.

1. Transferring Inventory

WeighPay offers three methods for moving inventory. The first option is a simple transfer:

  1. Select the item you want to move from the "Unprepared" inventory section.
  2. Choose the new location for the inventory (e.g., from incoming to outgoing).
  3. Click the "Transfer" button to move the entire product or a selected portion to the new status (ready for sale).
    • This process involves no regrading—just moving the item as is.
2. Regrading Inventory

The second option involves regrading, allowing you to split and move inventory into new products.

  1. Create a Regrade Ticket:
    • Start by selecting a commodity (e.g., 5,000 pounds of raw material).
  2. Identify Subproducts:
    • You can move a specific amount (e.g., 1,000 pounds) to another product type (e.g., aluminum extrusion clean).
  3. Distribute Inventory:
    • You can split the inventory across multiple subproducts (e.g., 900 pounds to one product, 100 pounds to another).
    • Adjust the cost automatically as the inventory is regraded into new products.
  4. Add Comments/Track Waste:
    • Include any additional details, such as supplier notes or waste, and track this within the system.
  5. Submit Regrade:
    • Click "Regrade" to finalize the process.
    • The system will issue a regrade ticket for tracking purposes.
3. Automated Regrade

To streamline the regrading process, WeighPay offers an automated regrade option:

  1. Go to Product Settings for the commodity you wish to automate.
  2. Set the Percentage of the commodity to be automatically moved (e.g., 90% to a primary product, 10% to a secondary product).
  3. Set Default Behavior:
    • When inventory is received, the system will automatically move the specified percentages to the appropriate categories.
4. Viewing and Managing Reports

WeighPay offers robust reporting features to track your inventory.

  1. Inventory Reporting:
    • View available units, value, and freight costs.
    • See profit margins based on market prices.
  2. Summary Reports:
    • Access daily reports that show what has been moved, sold, or is still in inventory.
  3. Incoming/Outgoing Reports:
    • Check incoming shipments and outgoing transfers.
    • View specific product-level details or bin/container summaries.
  4. Transfer Reports:
    • Track transfers between locations (e.g., from Location 1 to Location 2).
  5. Product Reporting:
    • Drill down into individual products to see their status.
    • Track packages, containers, or pallets and their details (e.g., ship time, buyer information).
5. Managing Multi-location Inventory

For businesses with multiple locations, WeighPay enables seamless movement between them:

  1. Select Location:
    • Choose the destination location for your inventory.
  2. Select Commodity:
    • Choose which items to transfer from the current location to the new one.
  3. Transfer Inventory:
    • Move the items to the new location using the simple transfer method.
