This guide will walk you through how to apply a deduction for contaminants using the WeighPay Mobile app for Android devices. You will learn how to split loads, apply weight and price deductions, and document contaminants with images.

Step 1: Choose the Product
  1. Open the WeighPay Mobile application on your phone or tablet.
  2. Select any product you want to apply a deduction to.
Step 2: Override the Weight (if necessary)
  1. Optional: To simulate this example, override the weight by entering "100 pounds."
    • Set the price to "$1" per pound. This ensures the total is $100 for easy calculations.
Step 3: Apply a Deduction for Contaminants
  1. Tap the three dots to the left of the product to access more options.
  2. Select Split Load.
  3. Choose Weight Only by the Pound as your default setting.
  4. Enter the weight to be deducted (e.g., enter 10 pounds for the deduction).
  5. Choose a Reason Code for the deduction.
    • Select "Weight Deduction for Contamination."
Step 4: Confirm the Deduction
  1. Add the deduction to the ticket.
    • The total weight is now reduced by the deduction amount (e.g., from 100 pounds to 90 pounds).
    • The total price will automatically update (e.g., $90 instead of $100).
Step 5: Adjust the Price (Optional)
  1. If you also need to reduce the price (in addition to the weight), enter the amount to be deducted from the total price (e.g., $10).
    • The total price will now reflect both the weight and price deduction (e.g., from $90 to $80).
Step 6: Capture Images of the Contamination
  1. Tap the camera icon to take a picture of the contaminants.
    • This is useful for documenting the reason for the deduction.
  2. Capture the image of the trash or contaminants.
Step 7: Complete the Transaction
  1. Add the customer’s account and proceed to finalize the transaction.
  2. You can print the ticket without payment.
  3. Obtain the customer’s signature.
  4. Pay the customer, either in cash or by another method, as required.
Step 8: Review the Deduction in the Back Office
  1. Go to the Back Office system on your computer or device.
  2. Use the Ticket Search to find the most recent transaction (e.g., $80 ticket).
  3. Review the images attached to the ticket:
    • The first image shows the product.
    • The second image shows the contamination or trash deduction.

You have now successfully performed a deduction for contaminants using the WeighPay Mobile app. You can document the deduction with images, adjust both the weight and price, and complete the transaction with ease.
