This guide will walk you through the process of setting up minimum weights with a flat rate charge in WeighPay. This feature ensures that if a load falls below a specified weight (e.g., one ton), a flat rate fee is applied, preventing the charge from dropping too low.
Step 1: Accessing the Settings
- Open the WeighPay Pro Windows application.
- Navigate to Set Sell Product Prices under the sell side of the program.

Step 2: Configuring the Minimum Flat Rate
- Select the product you want to set up the minimum flat rate for (e.g., green waste material).
- Set the minimum weight threshold.
- Example: If the net weight of the load drops below one ton, the system should apply a flat rate fee.
- Specify the flat rate fee.
- Example: Set a $75 per ton rate for green waste material.

Step 3: Testing the Configuration
- Open a new ticket in the WeighPay Pro scale app.
- Enter the gross weight of the load.
- Example: Input 4,000 pounds as the gross weight.
- Collect the tare weight (weight of the empty vehicle) after loading/unloading.
- Example: If the tare weight is 2,001 pounds, the net weight will be one ton.
- Check the system’s response:
- If the net weight is below the one-ton threshold, the system should apply the $75 minimum charge.
- Example: If the net weight is 3,000 pounds (half a ton), the system should still charge $75.
- For loads exceeding one ton, the system should revert to the standard rate (e.g., $75 per ton).

Step 4: Finalizing the Setup
- Review the default pricing for the product to ensure it is correctly set for different weight brackets.
- Adjust the pricing unit if necessary.
- Example: If your product is priced by the pound instead of the ton, adjust the settings accordingly.
By following these steps, you can successfully set up a minimum weight with a flat rate charge in WeighPay, ensuring consistent pricing even when dealing with smaller loads.
