This guide will walk you through the process of using your Android smartphone as a complete point-of-sale solution, ideal for managing waste management, recycling, and scrapyard operations.

The WeighPay app allows you to handle various functions such as scale and cashier stations, inspection stations, and yard inspections – all from your smartphone. Let's dive into how to operate these features step-by-step.

Step 1: Set Up the WeighPay App as a Point-of-Sale Solution
  1. Start the App: Open the WeighPay app on your Android smartphone.
  2. Access Key Features: Use your smartphone as a full point-of-sale and point-of-purchase solution:
    • Manage deductions, tare weights, and container weights.
    • Track finished goods and create barcode labels.
    • Use time cards and other essential functions to support operations.
Step 2: Start a New Ticket
  1. Access the Ticket Menu: Tap on the ticket option within the app.
  2. Select Ticket Type: Choose from various ticket types based on your needs (e.g., outbound tickets, sell tickets, waste tickets).
    • Waste Tickets: Useful for inbound materials where you are increasing inventory but also charging for it. Different ticket types have specific logic tailored for your operations.
Step 3: Open a Purchase Ticket
  1. Open the Ticket: Tap on “Purchase Ticket.”
  2. Enable Lot Tracking and Batch Tracking (optional): If needed, track inventory by lot or batch, placing it into containers, warehouses, or trucks.
Step 4: Add Products and Manage Weight
  1. Search and Add Products: Select a product from your inventory list.
    • Example: Choose "Aluminum 6061" if adding aluminum to the ticket.
  2. Connect to Scales Wirelessly: Your app connects to wireless scales, enabling you to fetch weight details seamlessly.
  3. Add Additional Notes (if needed): Notes can be added along with the weight.
Step 5: Configure Tare Weights
  1. Add Tare Weight: Enter a tare weight for containers, such as a 200-pound tare for a large container.
  2. Use Preset Tare Buttons: For convenience, you can select preset tare weights instead of manually entering them.
    • Example: Choose a four-by-four container tare, add the weight, and then apply the tare to the ticket.
Step 6: Calculate Pricing and Apply Adjustments
  1. Review Ticket Details: The app calculates the gross, tare, and net weights, and applies a price per unit.
  2. Adjust Dollar Amount: Add shrinkage, coupons, or bonuses if applicable.
  3. Manual Price Adjustment: If allowed, you can manually override the price.
Step 7: Add Additional Line Items
  1. Add More Products: Tap to add additional products or line items.
    • Example: Add "Batteries" at a unit price (e.g., five batteries at $8 each).
  2. Edit Line Items: Modify or update any line items as needed.
Step 8: Add Customer Details
  1. Search for Customer: Perform a quick search to add a customer to the ticket.
  2. View Customer File: Drill into customer details for additional information, if required.
Step 9: Apply Mixed Load Sorting (Optional)
  1. Enable Sorting for Mixed Loads: Useful if you have unsorted loads that need sorting (e.g., a truck with multiple items).
  2. Add Inspector Notes and Deductions: Set compliance-related deductions, bonuses, or item-wide notes as needed.
Step 10: Attach Compliance Documentation
  1. Add Ticket Notes: Enter ticket-related notes for compliance or regulatory purposes.
  2. Capture Documents: Take a picture of documents (e.g., pink slips, manifest records) and attach them to the ticket.
  3. Apply Tags for Tracking: Add finished goods tags, hold tags, or freight tags as needed for tracking.
Step 11: Finalize Ticket and Complete the Transaction
  1. Print and Complete Ticket:
    • Cashier Options: If you are the cashier, print and complete the ticket.
    • Inspector Options: For inspectors, save the ticket without printing, or send it to the cashier booth.
  2. Payment Options: Choose from various payment options.
    • Pay customers in cash, print a check, wire transfer, or load a pre-issued customer credit card.
  3. Additional Options: Set the transaction as an internal movement or delay payment if necessary.
Step 12: Assign and Reassign Tickets (For Specific Users)
  1. Assign Tickets to Users: Tickets can be assigned to specific roles such as inspectors, truck drivers, or pricing managers.
  2. Reassign as Needed: For instance, an inspector can forward the ticket to the pricing manager for final pricing.
